Cheryl J. Sachse

Born in Price, Utah Cheryl grew up with a mother who was an artist who instilled the beauty of visual and performing arts in her children from a very young age. Her career was in Human Resources where she worked with different personalities, cultures, thinking, religions, philosophies, and understanding of viewing life through many perspectives. Cheryl earned a master’s in human resources from Utah State University and studied abroad in multiculturism as part of the master’s program. Throughout her career she taught classes in management and art. Cheryl retired in 2016 and rediscovered her passion for art.

Cheryl dabbled in many mediums and found that watercolor was her favorite medium. She began showing art professionally in 2013 which took her art to a whole new level. She illustrated the children’s book “Mooseberry, Mooseberry, Gooseberry Pie,” and wrote and illustrated the children’s book “What Hides Inside”. Her art is currently on exhibit at Gallery 35, Arrowhead Gallery, Mesquite Fine Arts and in Salt Lake City, Utah. Her art is in homes in seven different countries and over 40 states. Linda Toombs

I am a fine arts painter located in beautiful Southwest Utah. My work focuses on Realism that invites you into my painting with your eyes, mind, and heart. I use oil paints to create a place where you can take a breath and remember the beauty of our existence.

I have worked to develop my painting to better capture the emotions invoked in myself from the inspirational landscapes and various subjects. This allows me to place these emotions into the artwork itself.

A blank canvas gives me a sense of endless possibilities.  The worlds I can create, a moment caught forever in time, emotions that can bring to life a sense of calm or place where only dreams can live.  The progress of a painting is like life itself.  With each layer added, a new dimension is created, layers of life built upon each other to create something unique.  With a paintbrush in hand, surrounded by a multitude of colors and a canvas waiting to come alive, that is when I feel the most whole.

At a young age, the beautiful works of art at The Huntington Library in California served to increase my love and passion for art.  Standing as close as possible, I would study brush strokes, the stunning colors, and compositions.  I felt my soul come alive and grateful I could spend time with these masters.

My art has been exhibited in numerous art exhibits and has been featured in two published books as well chosen by Sierra Club for the Mother’s Day Postcard art collection.
